Best long range Wireless adapter under $50 cad?

my router is in my basement, and I'm on the second floor of my house. Reception is pretty shit, so whats something that can actually get the job done?  Amazon links preferred since I have prime. 

 

Canadian prices please.

I have an AV500 and it worked great for a week, and now I cant load anything on it for random AAmounts of times. When it does work I get about 200kb/s instead of about the 2.0mb/s I should have. I managed to reach 2 mb/s before it stopped working.
