Argh!! Just shoot me!

Ok so, my brother bought me an origin gift card this Christmas so as normal, I activate it and decide to download Star Wars Battlefront after wanting it for ages. What I did not realise was how big the game was... I have connected my PC to my router via ethernet yet I still get this... (picture shown)

Is there absoluely anyway to speed the download up? I am going to leave the download overnight too

Its your isp's fault, pay more per month or live with it, no free way to get faster speeds past ethernet.

Try and make sure nobody else is using the internet is the only thing you can do.

Yeah true. Although I only have one option to pay ISP which is standard internet and no fibre. This is because my area all around me has fibre optic cabling yet I am four doors away from getting fibre. It really does suck internet wise to be me, despite paying £140 for a new router a while ago to use with ISP instead of the crap hub they provide.

I may be completely wrong here, but to my knowledge there isn't much that you can do. Even if you have crazy fast internet speeds, Christmastime chokes the upload servers an unbelievable amount and developers are only able to send you so much bandwidth regardless of how much you pay for from your ISP. I second the making sure no one else is on the internet if you're not saturating your connection. but if you are still aren't using it all theres not much you can do.

No, used to use BT but they ask stupid prices for not a lot. Am with a company called Utility warehouse that privides cheaper internet but still provide Fibre etc etc. They are good but it is BT in the end that are the problem for not paying for fibre another four doors down my road...

Hahahaha yeah exactly. Its so annoying, my friend who lives at the end of my road gets about 70mbs download and about 15mps upload. Meanwhile I get a measly 1.96mps download and a tiny 0.75mps upload speed just beacuse of flippin' BT. Rediculous!

Hahaha, yeah don't we all hope that. I hope that other internet providers get the go ahead with upgrading internet in different areas rather than BT doing it all

i think its a matter of funding. bt get paid if you use their lines via isps like sky or talktalk, so they can afford to do it. i think if like sky did it they'd run out of money p quickly.
