Monitor suggestions

So i have around about a 1,000-1,300NZD Budget, I want to get a monitor mainly for

gaming but I dont know if I should go ultra wide, if people could give me suggestions, I'm thinking a BenQ 35" 5ms 144Hz TN 2560x1080p (1,300$) or a BenQ 24.5" 1ms 240Hz TN (800$)

I personally bought Acer Predator XU271HU1 about a month ago since it was heavily discounted. All in all it's a solid monitor, it has kinda "edgy gamery look", but I can deal with it due to the discount it had. I'd oersonally wouldn't go with ultrawide, since I do watch quite a bit of Videos, and as far as I know there would be black bars on most of the videos, which would annoy the crap out of me.
