Amazon Prime Video service arrives in Canada

Netflix and Bell's CraveTV streaming service has now more competition in Canada.

Amazon Prime Video service has arrived to Canada, the company announces.

Like in the US the service is packaged as part of a Prime member where you get free expedited shipping on certain items, as well as preferential access to Amazon's music and book libraries from the company.So if you are a Amazon Prime member, you should be able to enjoy the streaming video service today. And if you wonder, you do have access to Amazon own shows: The Grand TourTransparent, Mozart in the Jungle, and The Man in the High Castle. However, the company warns that currently, all content and site is available in English only, but French subtitle are available.

The on-demand streaming video service now offers its complete collection to Canadians, including originals such as The Grand TourTransparent, Mozart in the Jungle, The Man in the High Castle, and popular movies and TV shows. Content beyond Amazon’s originals includes popular shows like Fear The Walking Dead, Community, Justified and Brides Maids. Amazon Prime Video is available to Amazon Prime subscribers and gives viewers the ability to watch content on up to three devices at once.

 

Amazon Prime is priced at $79 CAD per year and gives subscribers access to free two-day shipping on many products listed in its online store, and free same-day shipping in Toronto and Vancouver. Amazon is giving Prime users access to Prime Video for free for the service’s current yearly subscription fee.

 

If you are interested to be an Amazon Prime member, it is $79 Canadian per year. Today, 200 countries has Amazon Prime, including: Australia, United Kingdom and South Korea.

Was it free for like a month? College/school gets 6months free Prime

 

I mean we are in Canada. Who the hell doesn't speak English? Yes I know QC people speak French but they do speak English

At least they're smart and realize their service isn't anywhere near as good as the US, thus don't charge the US pricing.

I've had Prime for a while now (US), and The Grand Tour is excellent. A little too scripted for my taste, but excellent.

I think you get one month free every six months. Or something like that.

Go to Richmond. There's lots of people there that don't speak English. Only Mandarin.

This just made my day. Was complaining about lack of amazon prime video in canada to the wife on Monday. Get home from work today and SURPISE! Finally can cut that monthly Netflix out of my budget.
