Can I run The Witcher 3?

Hello everyone, I just have a quick question on whether or not I can run The Witcher 3 with my setup. Here are my specs.

 

gpu: GTX 1060 Amp! Edition, 6gb

cpu: AMD A-10 7870k

8 gigs of ram

550 power supply

1080p monitor

 

can I run The Witcher 3 at 60 fps with a preferably high setting?

probably not high but you could definitely run it. try using Nvidia DSR to run it at a higher resolution so you can use more GPU.

Witcher 3 is slightly more intensive on the GPU, so you should be able to run in

i ran it fine on a 660 and a fx 6300. You're good my dude.

That's awesome, thank you, but what settings do you think I can run it? I would love to run it at high.

i ran med - high at 30 fps. You can probably reach 40 on high. maybe more

If you want something that will work 100%, use the settings that Nvidia GeForce Experience recommends.

PS, you should be able to run it at high settings.

When I use DSR everything looks really bad.

i7-6700K

If it is way too expensive, get the i5-6500

DSR will make it run worse since its rendering at a higher resolution. Just stick to native resolution.

Ebay Xeons are great options, but they might bottleneck even a GTX 1060....

I have a 6600k, It can't handle my chrome tabs while running games, I also wanna run a Mc server and shit as well. Not enuf cpu power and the performance delta is negligible imo. But it you mean bottleneck as is in the game running at lower frames cuz the cpu is slow, that's true. But I your saying the gpu usage will go down cause of it, that isn't true.

Lower GPU usage does indicate a bottleneck and therefore does equate to lower FPS. Of course, the only games where that will be noticeable is GTA V and Overwatch....

No I mean the xeon will NOT cause the gpu usage to lower.

It will..... Games do not benefit from high core count and the Xeon's single core performance is on par with an FX-8350 which does cause lower GPU usage...

That cpu might struggle in places with lots of AI like Novigrad, but for the most part you should be ok.

My amd a10 6800k at 4.2ghz didn't lower gpu usage, my i5 6600k at 2.1ghz didn't lower gpu usage but it still lowered frames. I did a clock for clock comparison to that xeon, the xeon pulled ahead in single core.
