Beautiful Gaming Build

Hello friends

I want to build a water cooled PC with custom cable sleeves. I am from Switzerland and I have a budged of 5000 CHF.

I already have some pieces in mind:

  • HyperX Fury Black 4x 8GB, DDR4-2133, DIMM 288
  • Corsair RM1000x
  • Intel Core i7 6800k
  • ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITION 10
  • Samsung 960 EVO 1000GB
  • Corsair Obsidian 900D
  • EKWB EK-Supremacy EVO
  • EKWB EK-CoolStream PE 360*
  • EKWB EK-CoolStream CE 420*
  • Corsair SP120 PWM High Perfomance Edition (everywhere)*
  • EKWB EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM*
  • 2x 1080*

OK now first of all: I have no idea which 1080's are the best for my build, so please, feel free to tell me which one I should buy and why:)

Then I would like to know what the difference between the  Corsair SP120 PWM High Perfomance Edition and the non PWM Edition are and which one you would recommend and why?

Also I don't know what I have to consider when choosing a radiator. The once above are just random radiators I found, so pleas help me choose those too:)

Well now to the case. The 900D sure is a nice case but it is expensive and gigantic. So please post some cases which you recommend.

Finally, I know the Rampage v edition 10 is the most expensive thing i could find so far, but it also is the most beautiful one, which is the reason why I even have the 6800k which i would like to overclock to at least 4 GHz, which leads me to the problem, that i don't know how many radiators I need for such a overclocking. I also are aware of the fact, that a i7 6700k would be better for gaming, but since I am planing to stream sometime in the future I think the extra 2 cores would be brilliant. Plus the build should be an enthusiasm build not a power only build:D

So I hope I gave you enough information to help me out and I thank you for your time you invest helping me:)

Sincerely

MasterR8

PS: feel free to tell me the English mistakes you find:)

phanteks might be an option too, your rad config seems overkill even for 2 1080s and a 6800k. 2x 360 should be enough, for each component 240mm.

When are you buying this?

1080 ti i presume will launch Q1 so I would wait

I am planning to buy the parts in April. But I am not sure if the price isn't to high with those two.

Well if you intend to do 4k the next lineup of GPU's should be pretty good so I'd hold off for now.

If not then guess go with the 1080's

For a case that does watercooling, I really like the Corsair 400C and it's pretty small / not too expensive.

For Radiator fans, SP120s aren't the best you should be able to find EK Vardars for cheap. Other fans I recommend for radiators are NF-F12s and Fractal Venturi HP-12s (or HP-14s for 140mm radiators)

For a 6800K if you want to hit over 4.2GHz I'd recommend a triple 140 or 2 double 120s and that should cool your graphics as well. The 400C should fit one 360 and one 240 which is more than enough.

Save buck by getting 16GB and a 750W PSU because you really don't need 32GB or an RM1000i. Also on a SSD since you won't notice a huge upgrade between a 960 EVO and say, an MX300 or 850 EVO.

SLI 1080s, meh I would go SLI 1070s or single 1080 Ti once that comes out.

Here's my tidbit of advice: It's fine to ask so you can get yourself an idea of what does what well, but if you're gonna buildat X time, ask a week before that time or so. Prices, availability and even hardware generations can change in the span of a couple months.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

True, but if he is going with a 6800k and 2 1080's a $200 case shouldnt break the budget xD

Your best choice would be to either wait for 1080ti or to just go straight up titan xp (still cheaper than 1080 sli) which can handle 4k gaming nicely when oc'd on water.

8086k Winner BABY!!
