Things to do with your new computer

I am building my brand new gaming rig this year for christmas, and I was wondering what I should do after installing windows. What are some good things to download besides the normal like Chrome and winrar?

check bios before booting up windows to make sure that everything is installed correctly

 

run a aida 64 test on your cpu to make sure its ok

 

run some gpu benchmarks to make sure the card is ok

I had a linux gaming rig, I only moved back to windows as I got a cheap Radeon card and fuck the radeon Linux drivers are terrible.

Actually,  Linux has some fantastic games now.  Plus running a windows VM with PCIe BUS passthru (so windows can see and use your GPU to its full extent within a VM) is also a thing.  so Why wouldnt you is the better question.

Linux isn't a great solution for gaming. Even with wine, performance is not really there.

I'd suggest a dual boot or VM if anything.
