HELP! Can't overclock my cpu i7-6700k

So i have an issue with overclocking my cpu.

My motherboard Gigabyte Z170-HD3 , CPU i7-6700k

after i checked on youtube a lot about overclocking through the BIOS menu and stuff like that, and i make all steps after all, it doesn't overclock my cpu.

sometime when i reboot the pc (with the OC's settings) my motherboard make sounds. (i read about this, it's a BIOS failure) as well a message appear on my screen with BIOS Failure.

i still can't OC my cpu please help!

- Thanks

I went online and saw some program called "EasyTune". Maybe you don't need to go through the BIOS in order to do this?

What settings are you trying to apply?

Some cpu's or boards just won't OC, so you might have just gotten unlucky,.

I think i have a 'Budget Mobo' thats all

updater your bios to the latest drivers, if your mb has a back up bios, then try it with the back up bios also, then look that you save your settings and not discard them. If this all doesn´t work and you are sure that your mb is a z170 mb and your cpu is a k model, send the bios back. Also dont forget to higher the voltages as you bump up the Clock and try to do this in small steps, and dont oc over the bc, if you have ram modules with xmp on them, disable it.
