Is my CPU bottlenecking my GPU?

Go to solution Solved by Trav_X,

The second PC will bottleneck it quite a lot. The first one, not as much. First build would become a gaming machine and destroy titles at 1080p and even some at 1440p.

Hello,

i got a quick question. i got 2 pc's here:

(1st PC)

Intel core i5 4670k

MSI B85-G41 PC MATE

(/1st PC)

(2nd PC)

Intel xeon x5670

Dell Inc. 06FW8P (CPU1)

(/2nd PC)

With that i got a Evga 1070 founders edition

My question is: in what pc should i install my 1070?

a little late to the party but I would go with the xeon. might be a little slower but 4cores are toast.

Most games can't even utilize more than four cores, that's why AMD's strategy kinda sucked

What? Pretty much all the latest titles utilize more than 4 cores. My poor 4670K hits 100% on all 4 cores and I get microstuttering.

Hyperthreading, my friend, is different than core count. An i7 would do much better

So you're saying games can't utilize more than 4 cores, but can utilize more than 4 threads? That doesn't make sense.
