Storage solution, go all ssd or go ssd hdd combo, maybe m.2 or pcie ssd, maybe a bigger sshd with a smaller hdd or vice versa, how much do i need and how many drives do i want. Will i use raid o or raid 1 or no raid. But realy i never am good with storage solutions since it always varies with my current situation, and ofcaurce pricing is all over atleast once a month where i live

for me it was actually the mobo (specifically how much money am I willing to spend on rear I/o and an m.2 slot)

a close runner up was a case. it took me soooooo long to figure out that I wanted at least 1 5.25" and either a 3.5 or an additional 5.25 bay, and finding something that wasn't going to be hell to build in was really quite a chore.

Any component is hard for me :D With last bigger upgrade it was whether to pay more for SSD speed, or save that money for shipping fees. I'm quite happy to have taken latter option.

Get a second r9 290 and risk being bottlenecked by the gimped 4x second slot or stick with one at 4k. Went for the second option.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Gimped?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

my second full size pcie slot is limited to 4x electircally. gimped, nerfed, castrated, it just means it's made to be worse than it could be.

I just thought it was something worse than it being an x4 slot. Well you shouldn't experience any bottlenecks with 290 on x4 iirc.

4x 2.0.

Also, crossfire inherently requires more bandwidth since they ditched the bridge.

For me it is probably the GPU. I didn't know if I wanted to sacrifice money for better performance. I ended up going with a EVGA 1060 which was a good mid ground for me.

For me it was deciding to either go for the WOW factor or go for the best performance for the price (I had $500USD at the time). I settled for a little bit in between. Look at my signature for my build.
