It does not need hyperthreading... it has 4 cores. Hyperthreading is useful to get extra threads like an i3 with 2 cores and 4 threads or i7 with 4 cores 8 threads

I know im just saying the extera threads could help and 8 gb of ram would be filled fast

6600K - ASUS Z270i Gaming ITX - 8GB Corsair  Vengence LPX DDR4 2400MHZ - EVGA 1070SC - 120GB HyperX Savage SSD - CX430 PSU:|

I owned the VX228H and the color reproduction was not good. I got it for cheap so that's why I have it. 1060 3GB does better than a 470 it has been confirmed and extra threads on an i7 will help you record videos and render/edit them. Also 1060 3gb can pull around 30fps maxed out most games

More threads = better/faster video hence the i7

1060 3gb can maxed out most game with 30fps and does better than a 470 for a little bit more

16GB of RAM yay

Cheaper wifi card.

Final build, I edit too much now

you should check out my build:

was probably closer to $1500, but with another gpu and monitor thrown in it would be 2 computers for ~$2k, each with and 8 core hyper threaded cpu, 30 gb of ram and a 1070.

Unconventional and huge, but lots of fun.

I guess the real question is what games do you plan on playing? For instance, if you're just planning on playing CS:GO then that doesn't require much to play at max settings, while something like GTA:V is very cpu heavy. @Striker123987

Or this. Like 30 dollar more but has a good cpu for any cpu heavy game and a good gpu for 1080p

The latest list made by @deXxterlab97 Looks a bit better, as the extra 3gb of VRAM in the GPU will help out significantly in the coming years.

However if possible you can try to upgrade to a 500watt bronze or higher rated PSU.

Not sure about seasoncic psu, but otherwise looks pretty good. If you've got an old smart phone lying around you aren't using, you could drop the wifi card to get this under $1k and repurpose the phone via usb tether to be a wifi adapter for you.

That's what I did with my desktop for a while. Can't really get ethernet to it. What I did for semi-long term is even more cludge, I shoved an extra router I had in the case and set it up to bridge the wifi...

You get a stock Intel one with the cpu. You can add a cheap aftermarket one if you want.
