Future Kickfarted Episode - Raptor Pro

Now, I haven't actually ever held one of these in my hand, let alone tested it, but I seriously doubt a couple of phone-sized solar panels are going to be able to "quick charge" much of anything. Also, only 6,000mAh? This looks like it might actually work worse than the AMPY that Luke recently eviscerated.

This is a forgone conclusion based on the results in @Slick's video. As far as i can tell, the panels are much smaller than even the smallest one in the video so, I'd be surprised if it charges anything at all in this "hiking" use case.

Hope this helps...

So..... it's basically a Waka Waka Solar charger with Qualcomm QuickCharge?

Hmm, so you'll be able to drain the battery 75% faster while still requiring just as much time to recharge it via the sun as any other solar charger.

Sounds promising.

Running a few quick and rough numbers, it should get 8-10W in ideal conditions on a clear, sunny day.

Problem is, on a backpack (where they show it off), that's pretty much the opposite of ideal conditions. I don't know precisely how much that would affect it, so I'm open to anyone more knowledgeable, but I'd guess that cuts it to something between a quarter and a half.

So let's say 4W.

Quick-Charge 2.0, from a quick search, looks to operate at around 60W.

Sure, it's also got a battery bank, but why bother with a solar panel that's so weak? It's just wasted space that could be used for a bigger, more useful battery.
