Glasses and headphones - How would/do you deal with it?

tomoki

Let's say you have glasses and you love headphones... You spend long hours around the computer with people around you all the time and dislike IEMs because they've failed you miserably recently. Contacts aren't really an option in this case scenario. What's your best way of making yourself feel most comfortable with headphones on?

thin, like SUPER thin side frames

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Haha that's how I feel too but the thing is.. sometimes when I turn my head from one side to the other side, I hear my earpads rub against my glasses and it just sounds like interference with that creeking noise you just can't get rid of. Also sometimes it hurts the top part of my ear where the glasses rest on.

I've had glasses that are comfortable with over the ear (and on the ear) headphones on, and I've had glasses that are really uncomfortable when using headphones. It's all about choosing the right glasses. The interesting thing is that for me, it's not about how thin the arms are, it's about where they hit my ears and how close they hug the side of my head. I have newer glasses that are a bit wider than my old ones, and they're a pain to wear with headphones.

So, if I were to suggest anything, it'd be "go with the glasses where the arms fit closest to the side of your head.

I've never thought about it, my glasses don't bother me at all. ( I have the marshmallow-esque Siberia Elite though)

I've used circumaural with glasses since forever (2011 actually), and never felt different with glasses on or off. It might be because I like to use them very loose, but maybe that's the trick.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I guess it's where the end of the glasses legs that stick out behind the ear that make it hurt because the earpads portion that is touching the backside of the ears pushes against those legs sticking out from the glasses frame.

I should search these up to see what they look like..  are they on ears?

Is the clamping force of your headphones light? Also, does the creaking noise that rubs between your earpads and glasses annoying?

Hmm, never noticed that. Yes generally I use them as light as possible so they don't induce headaches :P

Every review describes them as like having giant marshmallows taped to your ears. Their sound isn't great and the mic is just acceptable. They do look and feel nice and have great build quality. They're over ear(for me at least, they aren't massive cans though. I have no creaking between my ear pads and glasses(I have a thin metal frame). The clamping force is just perfect with the adjusting headband.

Haha yeah I find mine to make this creeking noise when I turn my head from side to side and it annoys me sometimes. I wouldn't want the clamping force on my head to be any lighter though cause I'm afraid they may fall off my head hahaha.

I also feel like... Without glasses on, the listening experience feels slightly better? I wish the earpads had indents created just for glasses LOL so I don't have to break in the earpads on the pair of headphones.

I tilt my glasses up until the earpieces aren't under the pad anymore. You need good AR coating to use a computer like this, though.

Hahaha the both of you. I used to tilt my glasses up just to make the headphones feel more comfortable and flush alongside my head and that seemed to work when I was using on ears pretty well but after I switched to over ears I felt a bit more discomfort compared to before.

Contacts! (But actually though, glasses are super cool.)

It's more about the glasses than anything else.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

Hahaha it's not that my glasses have been bent but... it's just a little harsh sometimes to have them be pushed into the sides of my head from the headphones earpads.
