Evolution of Intel CPUs (Video)

I made this video about the evolution of Intel CPUs for a school project, and I thought it might be interesting for some of you here on the forums to watch

The video covers Conroe to Sandy Bridge in detail and includes "apples to apples" (as close as I could) benchmarks for everything from Conroe to Ivy Bridge.

Probably not 100%, but I would claim that its quite accurate.

its pretty good tbh, this really shows why a I5 680 can be competetive today still, i have one and as an upgrade from the Q6600 i used to have in that machine it was an amazing upgrade, its just sad that LGA 1156 motherboards are so rare and expensive because the CPUs are still pretty good for a budget machine

I have two i5 650 sitting on my desk that I got for free. Ive been looking for a good deal on a P55 board but deals like that are impossible to find

You can also get really good xeons like the X3450 and E5640 for close to nothing these days.

yah motherboards are super hard to find, i got one by chanse paired with an I3 530 that had a bent socket pin and then i got myself an I5 680 for cheap and it was amazing for the price but after that i have only seen one other motherboard and it went for over $70

Sometimes you get lucky.

I got lucky with a P6T Deluxe V2, an I7 920 and a Coolermaster cooler for 400kr (50USD).

The only problem is that the two middle slots on the mobo dont work, otherwise im currently using the motherboard with a xeon and 16gb of ecc ram in my server
