Multiple monitors question

Disketa

So lets say i have 3 monitors, and i have a game opened on one of them, and on the other two, i have Opened chrome or video on youtube on them. Would that slow the game down? (less fps)

I have gtx 1060 strix and i5 4690K

Yes, but usually not by much. It doesn't take much power to run YouTube or anything else on Chrome, so the game will still be very playable.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

It would be a marginal but if you had things such as a video running then it can effect the performance to a certain degree.

Okay, so if i play bf1 on 80 fps, how would that change with the extra monitors?

not much, it would mostly be because other stuff is happaning so about as much as if you just had all that running on one monitor

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

If the other monitors aren't doing anything it won't really be affected much maybe a couple of FPS at most, being within probability of error, but if there is other stuff that is running then that can vary.

Your auxiliary monitors will require very little work from the GPU and CPU. If you have two YouTube videos open on the two, you may notice the CPU working harder but the GPU will likely be unaffected as far as gaming goes.

I will also add that full screen video cause a more pronounced difference in performance than just a small embedded video.  It's not always necessarily the game that suffers, but the Youtube video more often.  Go in knowing that.
