My mom has a Logitech G400 that's finally biting the dust after around 5 years. I'd get her another (Christmas coming up) but the thing is impossibly expensive when found in gift-able condition. Here's what I'm looking for

1. Must have either no LEDs or a hardware-based method of turning them off. This is to be used with a Mac where most mouse software doesn't work (although Logitech does have solutions on OSX). The mouse needs to not be flashy which is hard to find nowadays. The G400 was non-flashy and it was great.

2. Must be wired.

3. Would prefer a nice optical sensor but it's not the end of the world if it's a laser sensor. She occasionally does precise work in Photoshop which the G400 does well.

4. Must be a righty biased mouse like the Deathadder or G502, etc.

5. $50 or less.

6. Made as good as the G400/MX518. Also quite hard to find nowadays.

Currently looking at a Mionix Naos 3200 but the LEDs need to be turned off with software and I don't want to have to deal with having to plug the mouse into my PC if the lights decide to come on all on their own. The quality also isn't quite up to par with Logitech's from what I can tell.

Thanks.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

get her an ergonomic mouse - if you care about RSI's and how they may affect her and her ability to cook for you, get her a nice ergonomic keyboard and mouse kti

I would say go to one of the tech stores like microcenter fry's electronics or even just best buy and try them  out. Imo that is the best way to choose a mouse as it is a lot about personal preference
