GTX 1070 or GTX 1060

Do you think its worth getting higher frames on the AAA titles?

And lets talk about quality here, what do you think about Asus vs Zotac? Since its the lowest Zotac variant the vs best Asus variant.

I absolutely wouldnt invest into the most expensive 1060 if the cost of it goes near 1070, thats ridiculously overpriced. Any 1070 outperforms 1060 no matter what they do to it (even watercooling cant hide the fact 1070 is much stronger chip).

I dont play AAA games (im FPS guy) but once u experience 144Hz screen u wont be able to go down to 60. Its such a difference its worth it. U can achieve 90-144 fps on 1060 too but with much lower in-game settings.

In my country a GTX 1070 Zotac Mini Dual Fan 8GB cost 40$ more than a GTX 1060 STRIX OC 6GB. Basically the cheapest 1070 and the priciest 1060. I am not sure what to get since if you talk about build quality ASUS wins and I kinda care about the aesthetic side too (I'd like a back plate). Anyone has these cards and can help me? Any issues I should be concerned about and your overall opinion.

I asked my friend and I said that I wanted to buy a card now that can max most at 1080p and probably replace it in 2 years time and he immediately said to get the 1060 since according to him if I plan to replace the card, I'd be wasting my money on the 1070. Well for me, I don't mind the 40$ more, if it was a 100$ price difference, then I would reconsider.

I game at 1080p @ 60hz and wanting to get a 144hz Monitor. I play Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dota 2, Overwatch.

Current GPU: GTX 750ti STRIX 2GB.

1070. If nothing else it will save you at least a year or two before upgrading vs the 1060

For 144Hz monitor u should go with 1070. The card's performance is well beyond what 1060 can offer (no matter what brand it is, the cores are not there to even get anywhere near 1070's performance).

1060 and 144Hz would only make sense in games like Overwatch, CSGO, Dota 2, LoL and other low demanding titles.

For any AAA title 1060 wont provide the FPS needed.

1070 is a much better choice if it's only $40 more.

Well he says the most expensive 1060 is $40 less than cheapest 1070. Its not like MSI 1070 is only more expensive by $40 compared to MSI 1060, not apples to apples comparison but your point still applies.

Asus is probably better. Zotac is still great tho (think Mercedes vs BMW in terms of luxury. Both great but one is still better)

Now my question is if you were me, would you get the Zotac 1070, knowing you don't like Zotac but since its cheapest.

And yes, the graphics cards here are overpriced. The 1070 MSI Gaming X 8GB is 100$ more than the 1070 Zotac Mini.
