Why Red Alert 3 is a failure? (Or is it?)

I just saw someone posted a news about VR red alert 2.

Which reminds me of red alert 3.

I remembered playing that game at 2008. A lot of people said it was a failing attempt by EA. Westwood studios Red Alert 2 was the real deal.

I thought the graphic was great, all the terrains , textures, especially the animated effects of the game is quite good. It was like a eye candy game for me. But it is too slow paced. I remembered if you fire too many missiles at the same time, the game felt kind of laggy.... Or maybe it was because I was using a low end laptop... Does anyone else had the same issue???

Also the empire (Or Japan what ever you wanna call it) was too over powered.... Their navy is just god like... and somewhat untouchable...

What do you guys think about the game??  Do you think that it was as good as 2??? Or it was okay, but ultimately was not at the same level as red alert 2.

Want to hear your opinions.

I never really played RA3 after buying it. By the time it came around my interest in RTS games was waning. It's probably a good game, but I had just moved on.

I played only in RA3, so I can't compare RA2 with it... but I really Ilike RA3 (I have hard copy of it). It's a good game.

Slowdowns... well, I had a game save with soo many units on screen that my PC ran to stand still if I wanted to see how they interact (i had to point my view on base and let "few" units die).
My PC at the time was i7 920 @ 4GHz and GTX 570 :).
It was the last mission of expansion pack, played on highest difficulty setting (I build an army for 6+ hours, before final strike :D).

RA3 on the other hand was a bit of a let down for me, but only because I expected it to do as well or better than the previous installment. I haven't played it in a while, but I can remember it was much slower paced than the previous one. I had high hopes but was met with eye candy and (for my standards) cheesy and sometimes cringy acting from the cleavagy girls and other actors. It was good, but not as wow.

Almost porn level acting. So the 10 year old kids can jerk off to it...

Well, that's what I did when I was 10 anyway....

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Exactly. I was a bit older when it came out and don't get me wrong, I love me some cleavage. But everything in the right context. And this felt so out of place, I just couldn't connect with it.
By the way, have you seen this:

Yeah, I know. I was 17,18 when RA3 came out. It was just an expression... But you get what I mean...

Wow. Where you find this? Looks interesting though....

Be honest with you nowadays I can't even sit down and play one game for more than half an hour....

Those hard core gaming days were way past me...  I even posted a thread about it, remembering when I was 16,17 playing warcraft 3 vs AI straight 6,7 hours and don't even get tired of it....

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Does Open RA now include all the original music for the games? I know TB mentions in the above video that he had to add music playlists separately, but that video is from 2014.

In TB's video, he also comments, while playing Dune 2000, that the open source port removes the need to place concrete on the ground before building on it (supposedly because the engine couldn't handle it), but in the Open RA screenshots for Dune 2000, it shows the concrete slabs beneath the buildings, so I hope that indicates that that gameplay mechanic has since been added to Dune 2000.

I have RA3, both a hard copy collector's edition in a tin case, and on Origin, in the C&C Ultimate Collection. I haven't played the game, though. Maybe I'll give it a go, now. C&C 3 was the last C&C that I played.

I wish someone can do a Red alert 2 remaster using Unreal Engine 4.

Cut off the acting bullshit, just plain and simple HD red alert.

Also which one do you think is the most balanced one??? Uri's Revenge??  Or??  I forgot other entries name...

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

I did not care for Red Alert 3 much at all. It didn't feel right to me. I played a lot of RA2 back in the day on my terrible PC, it was good but I don't care for it now. The people who are behind openRA are making efforts towards getting Tiberian Sun working on openRA. So that will be cool.
