there is a differense between video ram(VRAM) and system memory(RAM). video RAM is in GDDRx with GDDR5 beeing the 5th generation whilst for system memory you have DDRx with DDR4 beeing the fourth generation of system memory. GTA-V wants 8GB system memory and thats the number thats confusing you here, 2GB VRAM will be enough but i would suggest getting a card with atleast 4GB

Hey can any tell what's should to play games like gta5 in medium settings should I buy 4gb gddr5 or 8gb ddr4

But recommend requirement for gpu in gta 5 is 8 GB shouldn't the memory be more for high

I dont understand? You are comparing system ram with VRAM, they serve different purposes. 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Do you mean ddr4 vs ddr3? Then you should go with 8gigs of ram, ddr3 vs ddr4 isn't that much of a difference

Those are different things... What are you comparing? GDDR5 is found on GPUs and DDR4 is system RAM.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

In what possible scenario can you even pick between the two?

 

Never heard of GDDR5 being used as system memory. Except for the PS4.

Ddr3 vs ddr4 doesn't make a huge difference

You don't buy GDDR5 specifically. Dedicated graphics cards can come with GDDR5.

 

RAM can be bought in DDR4 or DDR3 in different quantities.

your question makes no sense. if youre talking about grapphics card memory 4gb is good enough for modern titles at 1080p 8gb will be better for higher resolutions. i hope that helped.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...
