I currently have an R9 270X in my system that's been there for about 2 years and with all the new cards coming out I wanted to upgrade to something that can handle most games at max setting at at least 60fps. Considering how I don't have buckets of money to throw at a new card I was planning on buying something like a GTX 1060 or RX 480 since I play only on 1 of my 1080p monitors and those cars should be enough for 1080p but I am planning on upgrading to 1440p sometime in the future [like a year or 2], also I'm not sure how long the GTX 1060/RX 480 will be able to handle the latest games 1080p, 60fps. So should I just get a 1070 and future proof my system or get something cheaper like a 1060 or 480 for now and upgrade later when I need. My processor's quite old as well [ i5 3570k, not overclocked ] though I don't plan on upgrading that one anytime soon, so would that perhaps bottleneck the 1070 in a huge way or would it just be negligible because from what I know, as long as it's a decent quad-core  it shouldn't bottleneck the gpu too much unless its a really cpu heavy title. I do some video editing and use after effects so take that as you will. In any case any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks :D

It won't bottleneck much

No, you're completely fine. The any i5 or i7 post-Sandybridge won't bottleneck your GPU at all. You probably won't have to upgrade for another year, if at all.

Even though the 1060 can handle most games at 1440p you should really get a 1070 for a better experience.

you could get a 1060 now and upgrade it to a 1070 or whatever is available at that time. i mean its pretty standard to upgrade graphics cards every 2 years or so. otherwise you end up overpaying for something that is probably cheaper in 2 years and maybe even has better competition by then. maybe use it as a handmedown or something like that. don't know your situation so its pretty hard to judge whether this is a useful suggestion but just throwing it out there.

1070 and CPU is overall fine. Going 1060 now and 1070 in a year is more expensive in the long run imo.

Why would you recommend getting a 1060 now then getting a 1070 later, a terrible idea.

i explained why i could recommend that to some people, its literally in the text you quoted. i would for example do that myself so i can hand it down to my girlfriend later.

Well, I guess if i can find someone that can buy my 270x at a decent price then I will go for a 1070 instead since that seems to be the better way. But don't know many people who'll be willing to buy it though. But thanks for the suggestions anyway I'll take em into consideration. :)
