Yes, you'll need a new PSU...and you should probably replace that PSU anyway.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Well it depends on the scenario. In this case, no as your PSU is kinda firecracker-y so...maybe just upgrade as it's not a great PSU...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

You don't exactly have the most confidence inducing power supply out there so i would just replace it but to answer the question no.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

Or set your house on fire. Literally.

But that's not Molex or SATA...

It depends. I've used dual Molex to PCIe connectors in a pinch, but I wouldn't recommend it long-term. Generally speaking, the connectors your PSU shipped with are the connectors it's designed to be used with. Besides that, your PSU really is a piece of shit (and I say that with all the love in the world), and I'd replace it with a CX550M, M12II, S12II or something in that range.

No, seriously, the 400W version exploded when exposed to a full 400W load. I like to jokingly use the term "Chinese firecracker", but your PSU is very, very literally a Chinese firecracker. Replace it before the GTX 1070 draws a big enough load from it that it blows out and takes everything in your system with it.

If you do hate money enough to keep that PSU, I would not, under any circumstances, use any kind of adapter with it.

Corsair CX Series

will be a good upgrade?

Not really. Look for a CXM (not CX), a Seasonic, a Silverstone, a Delta, even an EVGA 500W 80+ or 500B. A CX won't blow your computer up, but it isn't built particularly well either.
