Twitter to remove Vine app

Vine let people share six-second-long video clips that played on a loop.

Twitter did not give a reason for the closure, but earlier on Thursday it announced it was cutting 9% of its workforce following slow growth of the social network.

Another profit/loss optimising cut perhaps? I never got into Vine so I wont miss this one, but certainly I have seen them shared and we will lose another part of the internet. If I read correctly the existing content will remain available after the app is discontinued.

 

(Vessel, Vine... any other companies beginning with V we should be looking at next? Vimeo?)

But the abuse of it on Vine in EVERY SINGLE POPULAR POST was too much.  The extent of anime was toxic and is one of the reasons Vine is dead.

Anime is not toxic because you don't like it.  You're making the mistake of letting your personal bias influence your opinion on this issue.  

 

Plenty of other sites and services have anime content and aren't dead so there's no legitimate basis to show that Vine was negatively affected by anime.
