What GPU Should I Buy

cookie rager

Hello

I am building a pc with an i7 6700 (not k, cant afford that) 16GB ram and a gigabyte b150m - ds3h motherboard and rm 550x psu. I was wondering what is the best Nvidia GPU under £300 (about $365). I am mostly going to be playing in 1080p ultra high settings although will do light 1440p as well.

btw i will be being a new card instead of used

The Gtx 1060 is about $270 and the 1070 about $400, so I'd recommend trying to save $40 more and get a superb 1080p and 1440p experience.

Love not hate

Hi,

if you want a gaming PC

Buy a Z170 motherboard

Buy an i5 6600k

= save money from your current build and have same fps once you OC it to 4,4 Ghz (done in 2minutes)

1080p ultra + light 1440p = GTX 1060 GPU

If I was you I would buy 8gb of RAM because it's enough right know and easy to upgrade. With the money saved you could get a 1070 for nice 1440p and perfect 1080p gaming.

Also thought about a 6600k and z170 mb?

Get a i5-6600k with a Z series mobo. Get 8GB of ram and save $40 there, use that money to get a 1070.

I have got most my parts but i need the i7 for video editing and i am not a big fan of overclocking. I know purchasing 16 gb ram is overkill but i'm going to keep it. btw the £300 is solely for GPU not anything else. Is there any particular GTX 1060 I should buy

You  could become a fan of overclocking once you do it ;)

I would always go with high tier cards, such as Asus Strix, EVGA FTW Edition, Gigabyte G1, etc.

MSI Gaming X is top of the line for 1060 cooling solutions.
