It will work, but high end air will perform better for the same price (Quieter too).

why whould you want a i7?

i5 are starting to bottleneck and stutter in games. Take BF1, for example.

@Tbags something like an NH-D15s would outperform it.

BF1 is apparently having issues with code not CPU.

Take a Scythe Fuma if available for you or otherwise one of the mentioned Noctua's. But the price of the Fuma is much more in your favor and is also high end aircooler trading blows with the mentioned Noctua.

Anyway those aircoolers only get beat by the high end AIO's like the NZXT Kraken x61 and Corsairs like the 110 ones. But are much better then your mentioned AIO. It will work but apart from aestethics I see no reason to take it.

Is this confirmed in the meantime? Am not really following it since I don't play it, but could be the cause of the CPU drain in multiplayer.

Some reports are showing errant variables and others are showing frame-rates that are too widely spaced. Dynamic resolution is also showing issues which is annoying since this is PC and we choose our resolutions.

The H45 would work fine but an air cooler would be less likely to fail, probably cheaper, and quieter. Can you link us to where you're shopping? What's your budget?

Why not oc for a year?

If you're not planning to overclock and are on a tight budget, grab one of the many $10-15 downdraft coolers off of Newegg. There's a refurbished Cooler Master cooler that costs $7, but has a $7 MIR on it for the next day or so. I grabbed one just to have an extra cooler with a little more beef than the stock cooler, but that will fit literally anything, sitting around.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Please, please, please don't buy small AIO if you have tight budget. Only valid reasons for getting one are tight space or looks. If you just want perfomance, air coolers of same price range will outperform AIOs.
