For ATX, probably ASUS Sabertooth X79 or ASUS Rampage IV Extreme X79. For MATX ASUS Rampage IV Gene X79

The Rampage IV Extreme is an E-ATX board, not ATX. This is crucial since many cases don't support it.

The Rampage IV Gene, the MSI X79-MA, or the ASRock Extreme-4M. Those are the only options.

I can vouch for the ROG Rampage IV Gene, since I have it in my rig for quite some time now. It's a pretty awesome board. Ituses exactly the same high quality components as the Rampage IV Extreme, has really good networking, BIOS Flashback through USB thumb stick, the color scheme is fine and it features two x16 PCIe slots for graphics cards.

You did not give a price range so here are my choices.

1) ASUS X79 Deluxe

2) ASUS P9X79 WS

3) ASUS Rampage IV GENE

4) MSI X79 Big Bang Power II

5) GIGABYTE G1.Assassin2

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

You cannot get any higher end than the ASUS P9X79 except for the ASUS P9X79-E WS, which is the newest edition of 2011 motherboards. The ASUS P9X79-E WS and the X79 Deluxe both support Xeon, Sandy Bridge E and Ivy Bridge E out of box and Ivy Bridge E and is the latest socket 2011 CPU that exists right now. The other motherboards support only Xeon and Sandy Bridge E out of box and Ivy Bridge E with UEFI updates.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

Watch out for those asus p9 boards, seen several people have to shave the ram tabs to get the video cards to fit. Also be mindful that you'll have to do a bios flash forivy bridge e unless its a refresh board like asus x79 deluxe or evga dark.
