Yeah, this is a hard choice. I think the old looks better, and is more cool. But the new has better features, technology, performance.

Honestly bumblebee from transformers ruined the new camaros for me. They look childish and stupid. Not to mention everyone has the low end versions so the high end ones blend with the low end and the point of owning a sports car is gone. Personally I would get a tesla and just floor it all the time to the speed limit. Getting on an on ramp would be insane. Also passing

I prefer handling more than straight-line performance.  The suspension on the old one is probably not as good as the new one.  

So I'd take the new one.

I hear ya'.  I have a 2008 car right now. I've had it for almost 6 years.  Before that I had a 1998 base model that had no upgrades at all.  Crank windows!  Gasp!

I had a cd player that fell apart over time and attempted-theft until eventually it just didn't work. I think it was probably the last 3 years without it.  In spite of that issue and plenty of other mechanical and climate control issues, it's still my favorite car of the four I've owned.   If I could find another '98 black Jetta GL again... I'd buy it.    But I'll admit I'd need it to be in better condition.. and maybe fewer than the 217k miles mine had. :)

I actually have a 1968 Camaro that I was looking to fix up. I figured up the cost to be around 30,000 so I looked up the cost of a new Camaro and what do ya know....around 35,000 for a good one. I think I should just restore the old one so that its running, then slowly buy parts and build it up until its finished. But, then again, I keep thinking I could buy a new car, I mean it's still gonna be an old car no matter how much money I put into it. Doors are gonna squeak, rattles, and all that good stuff.

In the late 80's very early 90's they were cheap as, same with mini's, the old ra celica (mustang looking front end toyota), and a few other models that just skyrocketed in price now for as rusty body.

 

There is a bloke near my place that imports and restores Mustangs and Camaros while converting them to lefthand drive, does some beautiful work.

Don't get me wrong, i seriously love old muscle. I own a 69' lemans and a '67 impala for a reason.

However, I already have all the classic muscle I want, and really... really want to get another modern car I can work on to make a fun performance car. Since I lost my nsx all I've got is my bike which don't get me wrong, is fucking hilariously fun, but i just miss sitting behind the wheel of a modern powerhouse.

Old one by far.  The new one's sight-lines are horrific. It's like peering out of a bunker.  As nice as the tech is on the new car, I'd probably feel more comfortable daily driving the old one... gas usage aside.
