The angle between your line of sight and the edges of the screen is closer to 90 degrees.

Since your field of vision curves around you, a curved screen helps reduce bad viewing angles and keeps the edges of the screen facing you.

Same reason why people with 3 monitor setups angle the side monitors towards them.

I was literally mid explaining this but thanks for beating me to it! This basically sums it up, it really comes down to personal preferences. You will also notice if looking at a curved screen vs flat that in the middle there will be a slight "pinch" and the sides will seem a littler taller.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

It's a straight-up gimmick. You'd have to be something like 11' from the screen for the angles to line up right.

65" 4K curved lol. That's insane. My brother has a 55" I think though. The angles don't have to "line up" either. Curved TVs are marketed for a cinematic experience and curved monitors are marketed for better viewing angles/less eye fatigue

That's because the human vision has been trained to look at flat images in 2d space only.

What you actually see when looking at a flat display is the sides getting smaller the farther they are form you.

Image result for rectangle perspective illusion

The horizontal lines look curved even though they are straight.

If you have a object that curves around you horizontally, and is the same distance at every point, that should look like the same height at the center as at the sides.

Curved displays are a step towards correcting this flat screen bias.

The point is not to have exact 90 degree angles.

The point is to have slightly smaller angles than a regular flat display.

Obviously to have 90 degrees at such a small distance the screen curvature would need to be much larger, which isn't really possible at the moment.
