Post your fan's lowest duty cycle here!

RGProductions

here's to all my silence freaks! Post the lowest speed your fans can run at here and what fans you are running!

I'm using 2 silent series R2 fans and both of them can only hit 400RPM.

0 rpm. I run semi-passive. I don't need much cooling when I'm just web browsing.

My CPU fans are currently sitting at 348 RPM though. Six cores of Sandy Bridge can only run completely passively for around five minutes on a H110 before reaching 50 Celsius and making the fans come to life.

ouch. I can't get to semi passive anytime but in sleep mode. What fans are you using? My temps are fine with no fans (tested before. apparently the stock skylake heatsink doesn't need airflow to keep temps under 50 for approx 20 minutes) but they will still run.

nice to know my stock case fans are almost doing as well as some of the highest end products out there!

i'm going for the very lowest my fans will go before they spin down when i'm going to rebuild my rig. (it needs some loving)

that said, my server corner has a FD venturi airflow fan running at something like 3 volts, and it's doing a surprisingly good job :P

I use EK Vardar 120ER (Extended Range) PWM fans particularly for their lowest RPM flexibility.  They will operate with a range from 350 RPMs to 2200 RPMs.  I run 25 of these fans so spinning them slow at idle CPU/GPUs load was important to me.

Well yeah... they're off. That's kind of the point of them being 0 rpm and semi-passive. I don't keep them like this when I'm gaming or benchmarking...

Do you guys not own headphones or something?

No I'm using some random earphones and when my H100i v2 stock fans spin at full speed it sounds like I'm inside a jet-motor.

this may currently be my slowest spinning fan, mostly because every "thump" you hear is a duck tape fan blade hitting the case :P (estimating in the 2-300 RPM range)

Aren't you going to fix that thump?

well, the thump is just a side effect of the ducktape replacement blade that's mostly there to keep the fan from shaking so hard it rips itself out its mounts.

My fans are cheap 92mm Enermax, lowest they'll go is 600rpm. I've set them in the BIOS and there I can only lower them to 1000rpm, couldn't hear any difference so I left the BIOS take care of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
