Cheap EU based VPS

Go to solution Solved by mariushm,

Leaseweb has 1 core / 1 GB memory / 40 GB disk space (on SSD) and 4 TB of bandwidth for 5 euro a month (about 5.8 euro a month including taxes, but you get discounts if you pay in advance for several months). Here's link: https://www.leaseweb.com/cloud/public/virtual-server

I've had and currently have dedicated servers with them and I'm satisfied.

I've worked in the past with Netrouting and it was OK, but their VPS offers are weaker, you have less for 6 euro a month: https://portal.netrouting.com/eu/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=0

In the past, I've had an excellent experience with Swiftway, a European company that started in the Netherlands and now has datacenters in US as well. I've had dedicated servers with them and was very pleased with their services but as they started to tweak their offerings towards more high end clients (more managed servers, higher spec dedicated servers), I've slowly moved servers to Leaseweb because they had a better price for dedicated servers.

Quality wise, they're great though and I would recommend them without hesitation.

They currently offer VPS servers, and you can choose between "Storage cloud" and "Cloud" , where the StorageCloud gives you more hdd space (100GB vs 40GB) but only half the memory (512MB vs 1GB) for the same price (starting from 5$) : https://swiftwaycloud.com/?type=StorageCloud or https://swiftwaycloud.com/?type=Cloud

They also let you pay by the hour, for example you can pay 0.007 euro an hour for the 5$ server , which works out to about 0.17 dollars a day or 5.2 dollars a month.

I do have to make a note though... you have to create an account and on the next page you can probably choose datacenter where the VPS is located. I hope the servers aren't located only in US.

Since I only had dedicated servers with them, I never made an account to their cloud / vps section so I can't tell you exactly if they offer these in Europe. Still think it's worth checking.

later edit:  You should also check Hetzner.de , they have great server specifications for the money: https://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produktmatrix_vserver/vserver-produktmatrix

But be warned, they don't allow any erotic content, at all. For some reason in the past they were really picky about that.

I need a cheap VPS for JC2MP server hosting which does not really require a lot of power, so I am thinking going with Digital Ocean. Their cheapest VPS is 5 dollars a month and it is enough for my needs. Do any of you guys know betters hosting?

So what resources are you paying for? And why don't you change your ISP?

The one for 5 dollars is 1 core, 512MB RAM, 20GB SSD. It is the best available ISP.

One core? From what generation? That's a pitiful server.
