Xeon E5-2650

hi everyone i do a lot of gaming and long video rendering with with sony vegas 13 and encoding videos but i would like speed up my render times a little

and i was also wondering it runs at 2ghz will be a limting factor in games ?

my current spec fx 6300 4.4ghz 

16gb ddr3 ram 

ga-78lmt-usb3

antec 620m psu

 

amd fx 6300  @4.4ghz @1.4/ga-970a-ud3/HD78702gb /antec 620w psu

It won't help that much. 

 

Id probably just get a i5. Most video exporting need clock speed and cores. Also the motherboards are expensive.

Sure they may cost only $40, but x79 motherboards will be $200-$250, and the low clockspeed will not help gaming at all, you would be better off on the 6300. If anything go for a e5 2670 which runs at  2.6Ghz, but if you primarily game an i5 6400/6500 is better.

i guess also the i7 2600 would be off the table if i can get a cheap lga 1155 for like 30 bucks ?
