How is the Corsair RMx 650W? Anything I need to know before buying?

It will be enough for any(within reason) single cpu+ single gpu rig. It should be enough with sli on lower power card(1070) or a dual socket system with out extreme gpu;s

It is a good PSU. The RMx has no Corsair Link while the RMi does. The RMx has an inferior rifle bearing fan while the RMi has a fluid dynamic bearing fan. The RMx is single rail only while the RMi can operate on single and multi-rail. 

 

TL;DR the RMx is fine tbh, but I'd get the RMi just for the fan.

It is. my new system will only need about 500W according to PC part picker. Might to 750W though
