So I just got my new mouse (Logitech Performance MX) and I am seeing the mouse move on its own. Just while typing the sentence, it moved from the text box to the bottom right hand corner of the screen! What could the issue be? I have tried using it on a mousepad and just on my wooden desk and it still moved no matter what surface I have it on. Has anybody else ever experienced this issue?

Is it moving only when you type? it might just be the vibrations made when you type shift the mouse.

Its possessed! RMA it ASAP, please record the call for us though

Most likely caused by a mouse cable that's pulling on it, straighten out the bends and lay it smooth and make sure its not getting snagged.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

Moves no matter what I am doing. Doesn't make a difference whether I am typing or not.

Call Logitech, they're usually good with stuff like this. If they can't magically fix it they'll probably ship you a new one.

Check who between Logitech or the seller can you get a new one faster

It is already off :(

Damn, that was my bet... The feature drives me nuts on others' computers.

Your software and everything up to date?

Anything stuck to the bottom of the mouse?

Think anyone is screwing with you? (There are USB devices that randomly moves the mouse around...)

Will they still RMA it if it is a refurbished mouse from newegg?

That is a wireless mouse

I just got the driver aswell as the logitech software. From what I can see, there is nothing stuck to the bottom of the mouse. My dad and I have the same mouse and my room is directly above his office. He isn't even on the computer right now so I doubt it could be interferance. But maybe

I am currently on the phone with Logitech support. Some indian lady who is hard to understand. We are making no progress and we have been on the phone for over 20 minutes. Ugh.

What ever they ask you to try just answer with "it doesn't work". New one will be on the way shortly.

Since this thread seems to be filled with nothing but stupid comments for the most part I'll actually try and help. I don't want to look up the mouse but is it a wireless mouse? If its wireless consider interference. Also the surface the mouse is one could be not suitable or the mouse is being moved by software.

My mousepad was the issue. Now I need to get a new one :(

It didn't work on my desk OR my mousepad. So now I am using a white sheet of paper while I find a new mousepad to use. Any recommendations? :P

I use cloth mouse pads personally. I don't know of any cheap mouse pads that are bad so just get anything that seems to work. i know there are expensive mouse pads designed for gaming or whatever but i wouldn't recommend them because well its just a mouse pad.
