Isn't that wollah?

As far as I understand there's a bit of debate on how to romanize it. I have seen both ´Walla´, ´Wollah´ and ´Wallah´.

The pronunciation, and therefor the romanization, depends on the region the person is from.

Where I live I have only ever heard it pronounced (kinda) like 'wollah', but what you say sounds right as it's of course translating a word with the sound it makes, which is not accurate.

Now he post a video about it.

I had a feeling this guy was a ass. I unsubbed once I watched his video. He could have told the person if he wanted cash instead because of how busy he is, but chose to ignore him for MONTHS. I understand if you are busy for a few days, but this is beyond it. Also he could have UPS PICK up his package, and not deal with loosing time.

Watched the video.

Honestly it's hard to tell, just from this, whether he is actually remorseful or not. He apologizes, and admits to his wrongdoing. He doesn't go into full details, which is fine, as there's no point in laying out every single little thing. But he takes ownership. He even admits to being a douche and an ass, but claims he's definitely not a scammer.

I don't think he intentionally tried to scam the kid. That's ridiculous. Why would someone put his job on the line for scamming someone out of a $350 PC? He was an ass, and a dick, and a douche, yes. But I believe him on that part, at least.

Will he recover from this? I have no idea. Probably. That apology video is the only one I've ever seen of his, so I don't know whether the channel is otherwise good or not. People think they have long memories, but in a few months, nobody is gonna give a shit about this incident.

Oh, I'm sure he didn't mean to not send this guy the PC. I think he would have sent it eventually if the issue wasn't posted about, but it would have taken a long time. I don't think it's the witholding of the PC that people primarily objected to, it's how he treated the winner and the people who called him out.

He used the argument "you're not fans, fans wouldn't critisise me or hate on me" etc. etc. Simply not true, idiotic argument really. Put it this way: I'm a fan of Linus, but that doesn't mean I can't call him out on bullshit. He seems to think that "real fans" would blindly defend him, which is a really sad point of view.

And I wouldn't be surprised if this gets forgotten. It hasn't made a dent in his subscriber count. Hell, I'd be surprised if he hasn't gained subs out of this incident, since a lot of people (like yourself) have been introduced to his channel through this.

Agreed on all points.

A fanboy won't criticize. A true fan will, as long as it's constructive.
