I need help picking a motherboard!!!!

Buying the parts to my 4k editing beast tomorrow.

I'm not a gamer and this is gonna be strictly for editing. 

I'm a bit concerned with Asus's mobos cause they have not the best reviews.

I want this to last for yearsssssss and be very reliable and unlikely to break in the 1st year.

Please leave a suggestion or comment if I should pick another mobo or keep it!! I can't afford for it to break soon!!

 

Also are the fans for the h440 good enough? Don't care if they're super silent and do they connect to PSU or mobo?

The fans are fine. 

 

If your just editing, id get a 970 or 980. 

 

You don't need that much gpu power and many programs won't work right with the new gpu's yet.

ASUS, when it comes to low-end market like H110 or B150, has a quite bad reputation due to its low quality components.

However, since X99 is a high-end targeted chipset, it's okay to go for it. Actually its layouts are not bad.

Ha! I actually had a 980ti on this morning. I do agree 900 series is better with CUDA support but at the same time OCTANE and CC are already integrating pwell so I think by within the next few months everything will be up to date. Like I mentioned CC has CUDA support for playback. So I will be utilizing the GPU and especially for 3DS max and Maya.
