i5 6500 vs 6600

Also guys, are the i5 6400 and 6402P any good?

They are cheaper, and hopefully good enough. Should I get one of them instead?

If you're getting a discrete card, there is no reason to get the 6400 over the 6402P. The 6402P has 100 MHz higher base and boost clock. I personally have it with a GTX 1060(see my signature) and it performs admirably. Should be similar with a 480.

You should get the best CPU which fits your budget. But it's not as high a priority as a GPU.

Home PC: i5 6402P | Kingston HyperX 8GBx2 | Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX 1060 | Kingston UV400 240GB | WD blue 1TB Gigabyte H110m-S2 Cooler Master B500 v2

Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 710(Kaby Lake)

Phone: Oneplus 3

Tablet: iPad air 2

uh, im planning to get under 65 grand, and its for gaming as well as light editing and stuff!

The build in my signature cost me 55k. 65k with monitor, mechanical keyboard and other accessories. You can easily do it unless you're buying online.

I would go with the 6402P, since the difference between the boost clocks is just 200 MHz and the 6500 costs 2-3k more.
