16Gb Ram Too much?

So I have this build and i was wondering if i should actually get 16gb of ram or 8gb? Also, is there an led corsair vengence 8gb memory set (2x4gb)? Im going to be using it for gaming and little video production here and there.

16GB would be ideal for video production and mid-high end gaming rigs. 8GB is what I regard as the minimum.

If you're doing some video production the ram does come in handy. You CAN render and do stuff in the background on 8GB but its handier to have 16.

8GB minimum, 16GB if you do fancy video editing/rendering on your computer or you want room for upgradability e.g. 2x8GB, only put 8GB in until you need the other or keep it as a backup. And if you want to go really crazy 32GB for your tinfoil hat future proof :D (and an ultra sexy rig of course).
EDIT: I'd really recommend minimum 8GB since you do video editing, it's especially useful for games

Are you saying keep one in it until i need to edit or something?

Yeah you can do that, 8GB in my experience handles editing amazingly, 16GB even better.
But I'd say it's too much hassle to take out and put back in, either keep the 1 8GB in and the other 8GB spare incase you want to use it to make the video editing smoother or if the other ram stick runs into any errors :)

Nah 64gb is minimum if you use the AdobeCC

Depends on what you are doing. In Premiere I use 11gbs top, and in AE I hit 64gbs pretty fast.

Depends on what sort of editing. If you're doing heavy work, I'd get 16GB if not more. My wife's rig had 16GB and ran into a few slowdowns. Now she has 64GB just in case.

 

Then again, she does Interior/Graphic Design work with Autodesk and Adobe and her files tend to be large.

You need to specifcy what it is your doing.

 

For gaming, 8gb is fine. Very few games will be bottlenecked by 8gb ram, if any.

Video editing, 8gb will be fine, but not for large editing projects.

 

I always run 16gb with my rig, and I don't even do that much gaming. The ability to have whatever I want open at the same time is great, I can run virtual machines, I can run servers without a worry. 

Go for 16gb, it's the enthusiast sweetspot. 32gb is the overkill level.
