4k gaming above 60 FPS ?

Rotterdams

Hello,

Is it possible to play 4k video games above 60 FPS on the new GTX 1060 and 70 cards? (maybe also on laptop cards?)

And I never actually played above 60 FPS will i be in a culture shock?

On desktop yes. You can absolutely be able to get above 4k 60 FPS using a 1080 or a TITAN XP or 2 1070s or some even more powerful set ups

Lmao

4k 60fps on a 1060*

AAA games, 1080 or even SLI 1080. Lighter titles you may be able to slip by with a 1060 or 1070.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

If the game is several years old you can run it at 4K and get 60FPS .

However I'm not seeing a convincing reason to play at 4K. Not because of the frame rate issue, but because I haven't seen games employ enough detail to make it worthwhile. I've seen some high quality 4K video samples and they do have a noticeable quality improvement, mostly in clarity. I can't see that in games, other than where elements scale with resolution (like the HUD)

There is no single GPU that can run every game at 60fps, at ultra and at 4K. SLI 1080 should be able to get >60fps, >80fps at some games, but only in games that properly support SLI.

Everyone thinks a card like the 980 Ti can consistently get 60 FPS in every game at 1080p. No...even a card that powerful can't...at 1080p. Its minimums in the most demanding games dip below 60 FPS.

You should be able to play most ESports games with even a card like a 285. At 60+ FPS in most cases.
