It would have to be RAM. VRAM doesn't add up in an SLI configuration. Technically with the 4 cards, he has 40GB worth of VRAM, but because of the SLI configuration, the effective amount is 12GB.

This is a pretty epic feat! So the technology exists, just quite pricy and takes loads of space, power and cooling to create a pleasant experience, not to mention a lot of feddling around with the clock speeds, power target/fan speeds and sleepless nights more of trial-error (given it was his 2nd video on the subject) :l, to get this 4-way working this chilled.

What would a 10,000€ Nvidia gpu look like, hmm?

the feat isnt getting 4 titan xp it's getting them to work so well in 4 way sli without a driver for it.

Relax. I wasn't reprimanding. Just clarifying why what he did is so amazing.

Well yes but the thing is this could also apply to any 4 way setup not just for titans. Titans 4 way is also amazing because it was thought that even the best current cpu would bottle neck them if something managed to use.

He really needed the 12GB of Vram tough. Wasnt he using 11GB at 8K? He overclocked a 6950X to 4.3Ghz and for such to get a bottleneck... :P

Yeah guys, I honestly have NO idea how 4 980tis with the same CPU beat a few guys with 4 Titan XPs. Makes no sense at all

It is Kingpin, there are reasons why the EVGA GTX 980ti was named after him. All 4 cards and CPU were cooled with liquid nitrogen.

No, that is VRAM usage. ThirtyIR replied to someone on the video saying

"There's some weird issue with the VRAM reading when using 4-Way SLI - so yea, lol.."

Ignore me, I forgot the YouTube mobile app thinks all phones should have 1080p max. Good job Google.

Looking at his video comments, it looks like he is full of shit.

Some guy on Guru3D did it first a week ago and all ThirtyIR did was ask for his help and then try to falsely claim he was first.

This is awesome,

but 1 question.

DOES HE ACTUALLY HAVE AN 8K TV?

In the video he states he is running it on his 4k monitor with 2x resolution scaling which makes it render at 8k
