You sure your friend didn't buy a chinese knock-off? Cuase IIRC AW laptops are carbon fibre or alu. Not plastic.

I've seen both of their systems with my eyes and personally handled them. They're both legit. Shitty, but legit.

@don_svetlio There is not getting through to some people, some people just cannot appreciate premium products or brands and literally only ever look at price  (and price to performance)

Plastic? If it's plastic, then you have been scammed friend. Alineware use aluminium or carbon fibre for their chassis.

Are you literally brain dead or are you acting dumb for the lulz? This practice has been around for over a decade and every OEM does that. It's not an argument.

It may have had a thin sheet of carbon fibre in some places or aluminum in some places but I know what I'm talking about. My friends got actual Alienwares direct from their site, I've even seen the emails and receipts. I know what I'm fucking talking about.

Also, I wasn't scammed, I would never buy such blingy shit for children.

Yes, dell sell some shit laptops that are cheap, but they are like $400 cheapos that are on par with other laptops of similar price/performance

Although id say dell cheapies are still generally good

(seeing as I worked in a large computer retail outlet for 9 years with 4 mates and did about £3m of sales every year myself PERSONALLY and know all the returns rates of all the brands, and the quality etc, id say dell are decent)

oh here in Denmark you need to hand deliver or else it breaks, PostDanmark are fucking insane, they have broken a gear shifter, yeah 3cm solid metal snapped in half.

And they have also snapped a mech keyboard with a metal plate inside it in half, just with "transit". I don't know what they do, but I don't want to know.

Some of us addressed desktops too

but I stated that my comments were about laptops myself as that is what i have experience with

The desktops are a mixed bag, but id say on par with other prebuilds besides the extremely expensive custom boutique brands
