Skylake Required for Gtx 10-series?

I wonder if i would buy a new GPU from the GTX 10-series from Nvidia, do i need to upgrade my CPU from a Intel i7 47k to a i7 skylake?, or can i just stay with my current rig and put in a 1060 or 1070?

Stay with your current rig and get either a gtx 1060 or gtx 1070 depending on what games and resolution you play. Skylake isn't that much faster than haswell and once you overclock your i7 4790k you should easily match stock skylake performance.

The difference is ~5-15 fps in the worst scenarios.  Not worth the money, if you ask me.

I don't see any reason to move up if it's not in your immediate budget. It'll work the same. Plus if you have a K series chip you can overclock to alleviate the CPU as a bottleneck but I don't think it will be.

Stay with your current one. Not worth the upgrade.
