If you want a tool that extracts compressed files, I use winrar, others use 7zip.

 

Why do I need to renew it to download stuff? Can I not renew it and find a way around it?

Uninstall it and install 7zip instead is what I would do

Are you getting that on some website? You don't need it for downloading anything. If sometimes suggests otherwise, its more likely malware.
