Best / Good Cpu for am3 socket?

zinton

Want to build a low budget gaming machine that will pair with a 750ti. I already have an am3 motherboard capable of overclocking so i was wondering what you guys thought would be a good cpu to get for this system!
Thanks for your help!

EDIT: need to clarify that im looking for am3 not am3+

Also disclaimer I will not accept suggestions to use anything else but an am3 based cpu (aka dont tell me to suck it up and get an i5)

welp get one of the 8XXX E series. It gives you eight cores while still operating at 95 watts. plus you can still overclock it quite high as well.

The best AM3 CPU is the Phenom II X6 1100T, but really any AM3 Athlon II X4's, Phenom II X4's and Phenom II X6's will do.

Then get one of the few unlocked phenom CPUS like others have said. Generally a tad bit more powerful compared to AM3+ current stuff.
