I was wondering if I should wait for the 1060 to come out and get it or save and get the 1070... I would like one with a AIO Water cooled system so I was looking at the 1070 SEA HAWK, but is there a super big diffidence between them to even consider the price point. Btw I have a Radeon R9 290 Windforce right now.

 Thanks in Advanced.

What resolution and games do you intend to play

why spend money on fancy things like AIO when you can just get a better card instead?

Well I want to play 1080p with around 2 or three monitors... As for AIO I would just like it for cooler temps in my room... even though my temps are not that bad I would like one, If there is a cheaper but better card I would be down to listen but i am pretty set if not.

AIO doesnt make your room cooler, if that's what you're trying to achieve

in fact, it pumps heat faster into your room (assuming the computer is in the room) than most air coolers

that's why your gpu have lower temps with AIO

an aio would only increase your room temps, since its more effective at taking heat from the gpu and dumping it into the case (which gets blown into the room), but does not make the card produce less overall heat

With two or three monitors I'd suggest the 1070. I'm using 1080p on 1 monitor and have a 1070, and it is very overkill but that is the way I like it.

the 1060 if you're concerned about your room's temps

the 1070 if you want better performance (which you will need in a triple 1080p gaming setup)

edit: A 1080 if you dont mind paying more

i just dont think you have to pay more just for an AIO

I have a AIO cooled CPU and GPU and it does not make the room hotter. Holy bull shit batman...

Both the 1060 and 1070 will send less heat into your room, that's what matters. But the 1060 is a side ways move, so you want the 1070.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

it depends on a lot of factors,

thermal dissipation of the room (through windows, vents, or A/C units) being one of the major ones

also depends on whether you're pushing your card harder when you have the AIO on

so there's no definitive answer to that

but it does lean more to the side where it dissipates more heat into the room, that's why the card's temps are lower

i havent been following gpus lately (or much of any tech)

but i guess u can't go wrong by going to EVGA's ACX cooler for nvidia gpus

So you failed thermal dynamics xD got it. Linus did a video on this, you might want to check it out ;)

UI want a good card for performance that I can use to stream on.

So take a look at the EVGA FTW and MSI Gaming X. Get the one that you like the looks of the best.

do explain it to me then

i would like to learn more as thermodynamics isnt my strong suit (albeit i passed two course quite recently)

A 1070 is significantly better than a 1060, so save up for that. Any 1070 is fine, the only difference is looks and noise as long as you get an aftermarket one with 2-3 fans.

For 3x 1080p monitors, GTX 1070 is your best bet.

GTX 1060 is meant for one monitor 1080p 60fps on ultra settings. Not for 3 monitors.

the card id generating heat, the same amount of heat whether its an air cooler or liquid coooler. liquid cooler dissipates that heat more effectively into the surrounding room rather than remaining in the gpu. its a relatively small amount of heat depending on room size so it may or may not be noticeable.
