The Tek vs LTT

Anyone watched their latest episode 0239?  It starts at around 23:17 where they more or less imply Linus is being dishonest about the recent hack and the transparency video.

 

They also seem to be confused about the hack, thinking it was because of Linus live streaming his password on the Wan show. Am I remembering wrong, didn't the twitter hack come before the password streaming?

I did not watch the video you reference but did see the password thing on the wan show last week. Yes that happened after the hack.

The TEK guys are all tin foil hat wearers so they think everyone is lying to them.

However, that slip up on the WAN show was pretty f'in stupid on linus' behalf, and not the first time he has screen-shared things that he really shouldn't by accident. Heck, he's posted his credit cards on IG or twitter before by mistake...

When in doubt, re-format.

They seem to have bad feelings towards Linus in general. The same goes for Joker & his show partner too btw

They try to subtly or not so subtly show it quite often.

It seems that they don't like anyone honestly. I stopped watching them because of that and they got too preachy.

Ehh I like their hardware/software shit (esp from Wendel), but their views on lots of things are pretty painful.

 

I think this was a case of them just not understanding what the actual issue was.

Logan is a moron, the other guy (Wendel I think?) is respectable imo, and it seems that episode was all Logan, so inherently more retarded than normal.

Which always make me wonder how much I can trust them to inform me about things I don't know anything about.

The answer of course is not much.  Always double and tripple check.

I saw the episode and they were obviously joking, the password being show in the WAN show did happen, can't remember if was on the last show or the one before. 

 

Linus forgot he was screen sharing and open the password manager program he uses, and the password for the password manager was shown, he realized this and immediately changed the password.  This is not why he was hacked, but it did happen.

It's fairly obvious that Logan was joking, and that it all had to do with the shirt referring to LTT.  Anyone with an IQ of over 15 would have noticed that.

Also, at no point did they imply that the password screensharing had anything to do with the hack.

 

Of course plenty of people here reply without actually having watched the video, simply taking the OP's delusions for reality.

And then you say that Logan and co don't get the full picture?  Looks like you're only getting audio yourselves.

I watch them specifically because of that.

 

LTT is too "Politically Correct", they don't have any balls. Now that they've become so corporate, they worry too damned much about catering to the 8 year olds in the audience.

 

As if parental blocks actually stop kids from watching anything.

Haven't watched that but just so everyone is clear, the "hack" was unrelated to, and happened prior to the WAN show leak. Furthermore, the original "hack" resulted in (temporary) disruption to twitter, etc. while the WAN leak did not result in anything whatsoever.

If I watch a tech related show it's about tech, I don't need somebody preaching my damn ears off about open source this and and private that. I know those things that are out there, I'm not looking for that crap online too.

This. I hate it when reviewers or pundits insert their own beliefs in biases in their video apart from a brief aside. I don't need to be told what I should support or what I should believe in. I also hate to hear someone moan constantly about how much they hate company xyz.

 

I'm sure Logan is an alright guy in real life but I can't stand the self-righteousness.
