I figured I would have a few hours of glory before you knocked me down a notch :lol: Eerily familiar to the G3258 and @ProKoN 's veritable smackdown.

If I can get the board cooperating in XMP I have a feeling I'll be able to BCLK down or up from 53/54. I saw so many new BSOD's it made my head spin trying to get a speed outside of 2133. 2400 kicks MemOK. Also need to spend a good deal of time hashing out an appropriate LLC and figure out what's causing my vdrop.

For 1155 supposedly being the golden days of OCing it sure makes me miss Haswell, even if the clocks aren't as impressive.

no sandybridge cpu's can hold 2400mhz ram. just over 2200mhz is the max for the best chips. its 11c and raining here  :(

Today I took a lamp to see more in depth if there's anything... One of them look like it's punctured in the top... I couldn't see it before till I got the mb 10 cm to my face. It's a very small hole.

@ProKoN Do you think it'd be a "good" idea to use some 2200 uF rubycon caps (it's what I have ATM, I can't spend even 5 cents) to get 3300 uF?

Like this:

+ = serial

|| = parallel

(2200+2200)||2200

you can use a higher voltage

example if your cap is 6.3V you can use 10V 16V 24V etc

Its is wise to keep the same farad value

dont replace 3300uf caps with 2200uf

U wot m8?

You lost me

Are you trying to put 2 caps together? To reach the desired capacitance.

I have seen those 3300uf caps in psus. Maybe it's time to do some dumpster diving and recover some old ones if you haven't any monies. I think I paid like 6 USD for 20 of those caps

Do I hold any top spots on the CB tables these days? :(

My A8 5600K was moved to #4 on hwbot because of an LN2 submission :(

At least I'm still the fastest browser in the world on browsermark ;)

Tell me what I'd need, and I'll get the fastest slot 1 Celeron and Socket 370.

you would need a slot 1 celeron and a ocket 370 celeron and run cinebench at stock. then you can overclock and beat yourself. my mate got a dual cpu PIII rig a while ago which is really cool, but hes being a bit of a dick and replies to my texts like once a month, so i've never seen it running. hes got some other cooler stuff like vodoo SLI as well, but he never finished that build either :(

Well I've got the CPU's (2x ST1 Celeron 333A, 1x ST1 300A, S370 500), PC 133 RAM that hits 140MHZ (only 2x256MB, the 512MB sticks are unstable), and that's pretty much it. Also, I have on its way a dual socket motherboard with 2xP III 1GHZ, so that will be fun. Coolings is the problem as I don't know howto mount my liquid cooler on slot 1 cards (and my socket 370 mod was an epic fail-I'm glad I had a dead mobo to test it on first), that and where to find PC 140-150 SDRAM.

Edit: just ordered 128MB, I should have the fastest S370/Slot 1 rigs soon.

And the good part? The mobo is from a family friend who is doing a stock clearance, and it was just lying around in storage since about 2002.

I will, once the HDD arrive and its all put together (the mobo has 2 dedicated IDE RAID headers, so 4x velociraptors in RAID 0......-if they can be found).

Here's the mobo BTW, and its the best chipset, like my Jetway 994AN-L, they are both server grade mobo's anyway. (review) http://hothardware.com/reviews/Abits-VP6-VIA-Apollo-Pro-133A-DualCPU-Motherboard?page=1

Ikr? Just looking at another review they appeared to make excellent overclocking motherboards, I'm looking at another review now and the FSB was at 160MHz stable, and with all 4 DIMM slots filled. (That was with the P3's having the voltage wire mod)

New x5670 and my 24/7 clocks. Much better :)
Still running dual channel. Have another stick on the way, should break 1000 in tri-channel.

It seems this is about the max at 1.35v. At 4.6 Cinebench kept crashing. Interestingly windows started booting at 4.8 (220x22) but then quickly bluescreened.

I have a strange ram issue with this CPU, the ram can't be clocked faster than 10x the bclk, at 133mhz the ram can't be faster than 1333mhz, it just won't post. It can be less than 10x though, at 200mhz bclk 1600mhz ram will work fine. This ram ran fine at 2400mhz on my old 860 with the bclk at 200mhz. On my 920 and w3520 the ram ran fine at 1600mhz at 133mhz bclk. :blink:

Heads up, shitload of Slot 1 and Socket 370 scores coming up (turns out that 1 stick of RAM was dead, and that my 20GB Maxtor has only had about 128-129 powered on, so if the 4.7 powered on years is anything to go by on the 60GB version, my LMC will be running for a really, really long time).
