What's this build like? (Updated)

ryyo96

Hi again!

I mentioned in my previous post that I am looking to build a gaming PC for my little brother, this will be his first PC. I got some tips from everyone in the last post and y'all told me to hold off on getting a GTX 970 and wait for the RX 480, so I did. Now that we have prices and performance figures for the 480, what do you think of the card? I have posted a link below to what I hope the build will look like;

Please tell me if there is anything that should be changed to make it run better if you can think of anything. Ideally, I'd like the PC to run all the popular games like GTA 5, Fallout 4 and other graphic intensive games at 60FPS with all maxed settings, or close to it. Id like the PC to run silent as well, I'd like minimal noise to be spilled from the machine.

Thanks for any of your help guys.

looks very good. you can save some money on case and ssd but those will come with compromises too. i would go for it.

i would advise you to maybe wait a little more time for aftermarket cards to come out which will have better cooling and stuff but if you have to get one now i guess it wouldnt be too bad if you dont overclock

I have a few questions for you:
Will you set up RAID in the future?
Will you need the additional USB ports?

If both are no, then might want to consider downgrading it to a B150 motherboard ^_^
Other than that I would go for it. To be honest it's ok to splurge a lot on the case since it'll last you a REALLY long time.

I have heard of RAID but I'm not to sure of what it is, are you able to explain. How many USB ports are available with this MOBO? TBH, probs only 2 or 3 ports will be used at the one time. Is the PSU good enough?

RAID is when you use 2 or more drives to either speed up performance, reliability or both. Currently supported on HX7/ZX7 chipsets.

It's very expensive to do. Linus did a video on this over at Techquickie and NCIX.

Do you think it's worth doing it?

Well it depends. If you're the kind of guy who has all sorts of mission critical data like idk, pictures of your crush then by all means go. But if you just want to go about your daily life and you're content with backing them up on the cloud or a flash drive, then nope.

 Haha ?, OK. Thank you for your help!
