I just installed the hyper evo 212 + mx4 compound after cleaning the old intel thermal paste and stock cooler, anyway i tried to run prime 95 and it got to 78c max. and someone told me to try version 26.6 for haswell since i have core i7 4790 and my max temps was 63-65 without fan running full speed and i get now at idle 29/30? i want to know why the usual prime 95 got my temp to 78c and the 26.6 one got me to 63 max. and is this temps normal since its new cooler and thermal paste, thanks all

The temps are normal.

Prime95 is unrealistically brutal.

That's pretty normal. P95 hates your computer and wants to kill it. I lean on a combination of RealBench, OCCT and AIDA64 as a result.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

The main reason why you get higher temps on some P95 version is that if you don't have manual core volts settings, it will raise volts to match stress from software. Volts will be raised with other software but not to that much extend.

So my temps are normal or should i be worried about it?

They are normal. I just cleared up the reason for high temps since no one else didn't already do it.
