Best 1080 version to upgrade to?

Hey everyone, I have been thinking about upgrading my gpu for awhile now and getting a GTX 1080. Which one would be the best one to get considering there isn't a very big price difference between them all? I use my computer to mostly play games and occasionally edit videos. I only play at 1920x1080 and would like to start gaming at a higher res and I currently have a GTX 970 Windforce G1 My cpu is a AMD FX-8320 OC'd at 4.5ghz I can list other specs but don't really know what is relevant and this is my first post, would it be worth upgrading? Is anyone else thinking about upgrading? Thanks!

Do you think it would be worth waiting to see what other versions come out?

Wait for other versions but honestly its not worth it for 1080p gaming. I think a 1070 would be more suited for your use.

QUESTION: What monitor are you going to be using 120Hz or 144Hz ?? or 60Hz (in which case more fps wont matter really).

Uh... okay, you wanna game at a higher resolution. Do you already have your display? If so, which is it; if not, however, buy that first before you think about getting a new GPU.

PS: Scroll down to the bototm of the page. Then, change the theme to night and watch what happens to OP. And fix it.

The way things are looking, 2.1 GHz is about the best that can be expected on air and even the FE can get there. Even if someone manages to post higher core clock numbers, the scaling isn't enough to make it significant.
