Wait for actual reviews just like with the two nvidia cards, since info prior to actual reviews tends to be wrong, skewed or at the very least unverifiable.

We should take this with a pinch of salt, but the RX 480 looks highly promising. I'm probably getting one if overseas pricing isn't hugely more than US MSRP.

performance measured doing what?!

ashes of the singularity at 4K?!

what about say, DOOM...or Tomb Raider at 1080p? :P

wait for reviews...

the "benchmarks" shown by AMD was done using 1080p monitors with VSR/DSR up to 1440p.

i know they showed that two of these cards are slightly faster than a GTX1080 in AoTS and people went nuts...

which makes sense... the performance is as expected if going by current gen cards performance numbers. There really is nothing out of the extraordinairy with their benches, sadly.

If those benchmarks are true, AMD did a great job.

But where is GTX 1070 in this comparison?

I higly doubt it will be like that. 200$ for almost 980 ti performance?

Intel i7 12700K | Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 | Pure Loop 240mm | G.Skill 3200MHz 32GB CL14 | CM V850 G2 | RTX 3070 Phoenix | Lian Li O11 Air mini

Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 140mm fans

WD My Cloud 4TB

its not there, because the GTX 1070 would provide a better "bang for your buck" comparison then the 1080.

1070 = 350-400 USD.

2x 480 = 398 USD

1070 + some OC = equal or marginally slower then 2x 480.

Then all the plebs who watched reviews from 2005 and decided that 10 years of CF/SLI has done nothing to improve the experience and thus post shit about CF/SLI based on 10 year old outdated info run into this thread chanting

That is actually normal with a node shrink. Nvidia's price gouging is making people think the opposite is normal. The 7850 came out at $250 and have gtx 580 performance going from 40nm to 28nm.

There wouldn't be people running SLI / CF if it wasn't . Systems with problems, however many there may be, are likely the exception.

I ran SLI 78xx for a year with no problem and I am planning to get CF again when Vega is out.
