First build (very tight budget)

Appachi

EDIT: Changed PSU, no longer going to burn down my house, I'll update PPP link if someone wants.

Hey everyone,

First time on these forums so be gentle.

I'm a first time builder and I'm on a very tight budget. As in like less that $250. I have a part list ready for critiquing. Also please don't go and tell me to buy used parts because that is not an option. My intention for this machine is to play CS:GO and League of Legends at 1080p with 60 frames on medium-high settings.

Heres the PC Part Picker: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/qXPhPs

Thanks everyone

Looks pretty respectable. I would only say change out that power supply to something from, like, Corsair or EVGA for a few bucks extra. I've never heard of Raidmax and therefore wouldn't trust them.

I figure you know people will say this, but if it's at all possible, PLEASE wait until you have at least $400 or $500 unless you need the computer right now. You will be so much happier with the result.

Welcome to the forums!

My best advice is to wait until you can spend $400 on your computer. The experience is greatly improved once you can spend that much. At that price,

Well...raidmax is like on the blacklist of PSUs so...you know...also cheap Corsair and EVGA PSUs are a no go as they are terrible...for the same monies, you can get a XFX or a seasonic PSU which are much better (unless you're looking at the XFX XT series of PSUs...they are designed by Seasonic but outsourced so not very good indeed).

With your budget, it may be wise to go used as you will really struggle to even get 60fps on LOL.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

As stated above you will get much better results if you wait until you have some more cash, but if that is not possible I suggest buying used parts. You can get some pretty amazing deals in places like craigslist and Ebay.

Well, people have been saying the CXM line (with the grey label) are actually decent combined with the fact that the 950 is quite a low power card so it should be fine.

Only if it's the ones that don't use a power connector so OP doesn't have to use a power supply with a PCI-E power connector.

:P It's mostly when people take high end systems (like i7s and 980Tis) and power them with a CX600 which has really shitty internal components which'll start throttling at 30 deg C. You should be fine though :D
